  • Only 8% of the total publications on CVD are from developing countries

  • More than 60% of the Global burden of coronary heart disease occurs in developing countries.

  • 82% of the future increase in coronary heart disease mortality will occur in developing countries.

  • Two-thirds of the patients die before reaching the hospital, this highlights the need for early recognition and prevention.

  • Major risk factors of CVD include:
    • High blood pressure
    • Tobacco / Smoking
    • Diabetes
    • High cholesterol
    • Physical inactivity
    • Obesity and
    • Socio-economic status
The place of awareness in fighting CVD
  • Awareness is the most effective method of intervention. According to WHO two-thirds of patients die before reaching the hospital. So the need for early recognition and prevention is necessary.

  • The foundation will use all proper and culturally acceptable media to draw attention to CVD, working closely will Youth Development Groups. (Drama, films, school clubs, healh planning clubs, inter-house sports, religious institutions, neighborhood programs)
